Strudel with meat. A weighty strudel made of brittle puff pastry, with a savory filling, can become a full-fledged dinner, feed your fill and energize for a long time.

To speed up the process, I advise you to use a ready-made semi-finished dough, the neutral taste of which is combined with different filling, including potato and meat.

A few favorite spices will enrich baked goods, and for juiciness and delicate aroma it is important not to forget about the butter layer.


Puff pastry - 450 g
Minced meat - 600 g
Potatoes - 4-5 pcs.
Onions - 1 pc.
Butter - 50 g
Vegetable oil - 30 ml
Milk - 20 ml
Eggs (yolk) - 1 pc.
Thyme - 3-4 branches
Greens - 3-5 branches

Step by step recipe.

Defrost the roll of dough in advance, prepare the rest of the products. Boil the potatoes, mash until smooth, season to taste. Chill before applying to dough.

In hot vegetable oil, fry the onions, chopped into cubes.

Add minced meat, generously salt, pepper, stir - evaporate the liquid that appears. Cool down.

For convenience, divide the puff pastry (450 g) in half (at the exit - two strudel with meat and potatoes). Roll out as thinly as possible on a towel sprinkled with flour - stretch out in a rectangle. Smear with soft butter around the entire perimeter.

Distribute cold mashed potatoes, scatter thyme leaves or other herbs.

Add minced meat fried with onions and juicy greens.
Roll up tightly along the length.

Transfer gently to a baking sheet with parchment, grease with yolk shaken with milk. Bake for about 60 minutes at 170 degrees. Brush the strudel with the milk-egg mixture a couple of times.

Before serving, cool slightly golden strudel with meat and potatoes, cut into portions. Bon Appetit!
